Visiting the Sydney Opera House I’ve always dreamed of visiting the Sydney Opera House, one of the world’s most famous landmarks. When I finally got the chance, I was amazed by its unique shell-like design, sitting proudly on the harbour surrounded by water. Getting There Getting to the Opera House is easy. I took a train to Circular Quay, which is just a short 6-minute walk away. There are also buses and ferries that stop nearby, so you have plenty of options. If you have mobility needs, there’s even a shuttle bus that takes visitors from Circular Quay to the forecourt. Touring the Opera House I decided to join a Guided Walking Tour, which lasts about an hour. It was fascinating to see areas normally closed to the public and hear the story behind the building’s design. Tours run every day until 5 pm, and the ticket costs around £24 per person.
